ANTA is Expanding Its Footprint in Southeast Asia

ANTA, a prominent Chinese sportswear brand, is making significant waves in Southeast Asia with its recent expansion into Singapore. The brand’s aggressive rollout of new stores across the city hints at Singapore being a critical hub for ANTA’s larger ambitions in the region. In Singapore, you can find ANTA 10 different locations. For more information visit the ANTA webpage.

Known for blending innovative technology with practical design, ANTA offers a broad portfolio of running shoes tailored to a variety of runners’ needs and preferences. Among its many product lines, the PG7 series is one to look out for as it provides both versatile and accessible choice for daily runners and enthusiasts.

ANTA Running Shoes Series

ANTA running product portfolio has more than just the PG, there is also the C202 series which caters to racing and top performance runnning. The ANTA’s PG7 series sits at the heart of its running lineup, designed for runners seeking premium cushioning, fit, and durability at an accessible price point. The PG7 series features the brand’s Peak Gravity, and hence “PG”, cushioning technology, which dramatically reduces impact forces. Due to its price point, it provides a good starting point for runners to know ANTA.

One of the main product, the PG Travel 2 has over 2 million pairs sold globally as of February 2025 accordingly to the company. Its upper uses a yarn that is 25% softer than previous models with a wide last, allowing it to comfortably fit diverse foot types. The outsole utilizes ANTA’s A-Grip Rubber Sole technology, ensuring durable traction on city streets and urban terrain.

The PG Series

The series includes five distinct models, each catering to varying support and cushioning needs. To better understand their product line-up, I visit ANTA stores and asked for advice from their store staff.

  • PG7 2.0 & 2.5: Balanced cushioning for neutral arch runners. The PG 7 2.5 took inspirations and learning from PG Float’s midsole and outsole to further enhance performance.
  • PG7 Travel 2S: Equipped with a thicker midsole and same PG7 cushioning technology, it provides plush comfort and stability for long-distance and all-day wear.

  • PG7 Plus: Designed with dual-density foam offering stability cushioning, ideal for runners with normal to low arches.

  • PG7 Ultra: Features rebound cushioning optimized for normal to high arch runners. Its outsole is made from AWR High Abrasion Rubber, which is 23% lighter and 66% more abrasion-resistant than standard ANTA rubber.

  • PG7 Float: A more stable, lower stack PG7 with a different midsole and outsole design.

Each model differentiates itself with tailored designs engineered to meet the specific needs of different running styles and terrains. This approach allows runners to select shoes aligned closely with their biomechanics and usage patterns.

Concluding Remarks

The excitement around testing and covering brands like ANTA, XTEP, and other emerging Asian players is palpable. It’s refreshing to see newer brands building their communities in a competitive landscape, especially as Southeast Asia’s running market continues to expand rapidly.

Sometimes, dominant global players lose touch with what local runners truly want. This is where nimble, fast-evolving brands in Asia can make a real difference by listening closely to athletes and responding with fresh ideas, technical advances, and unique value.

Of course, the competition is fierce. Market leaders still have strong recognition and resources, but the rise of newcomer brands shows that runners are hungry for alternatives and genuine innovation. For every runner looking for something different, brands like ANTA present exciting options worth exploring.

What would be the first ANTA running shoes you wan to see on review? Drop your views in the comments! (Personally, I would love to try the PG Float and PG Travel 2.5!)
